The State Audit Institution (SAI), representing the UAE, participated in the 20th meeting of training and development committee of GCC SAIs. The meeting was held in Kuwait over the period from 13-15 of February.
The UAE participating delegation presented the proposed programs on financial audit from corporate governance perspective and importance of strategic planning of audit activities. The GCC SAIs determined their requirements concerning the mutual audit work among the member countries and discussed the coordination method with their counterparties in order to implement advanced training programs in some critical audit fields.
The meeting handled the recommendation of GCC audit rules team on benefiting from the audit manuals issued recently through conducting training programs to increase audit knowledge and skills upon implementing these manuals. Moreover, they reviewed the General Secretariat memo on draft training plan of 2012 and training programs proposed by the GCC SAIs.
It is worth mentioning that the SAI has chaired the previous meeting held in Kuwait last year where the attendees handled using E-Learning in the SAIs, enhancing awareness of International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (“ISSAI”) as well as qualifying and training trainers in cooperation and coordination with Intosai Development Initiative
